Scots actress Julie Graham has slammed the decision to roll back the rights of American women following the overturning of Roe v Wade. The landmark law - which guaranteed a right to abortion across the US - has been ripped up after 49 years.
Former Benidorm star Julie joins a growing army of famous faces across the globe who have spoken out about the controversial move by the US Supreme Court last week. The 56-year-old said she will "fight to the end" to ensure her own kids have control over their own bodies and have the choice about whether or not to have a baby.
In a powerful post on Instagram, Julie told followers she has had "two safe abortions" in the past as she posted a snap of her teenage daughters, Edie and Cyd, calling them "my chosen children".
The mum-of-two said: "I had two (safe) abortions. These are my chosen children. My body. My choice. I will fight to the end for their right to choose when and if they decide to have children #roevwade #BanOffOurBodies." Julie's comments come as a host of actors, authors, singers and politicians blasted the overturning of the landmark 1973 case which gave women in the US the right to abortion.
In the aftermath of the decision to strike down the federal abortion law, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon described it as "one of the darkest days for women's rights in my lifetime".
The First Minister said the US Supreme Court decision could embolden "anti-women forces in other countries". Half of US states are expected to introduce new restrictions or bans and abortion access is expected to be cut off for about 36 million women of reproductive age.

The US Supreme Court announced the reversal of the law on Friday (June 24), which means that there is no provision in the constitution anymore to guarantee the right to choose.
The ruling means that abortions will not be available to women who live in conservative states which had already passed so-called "trigger" laws which ban the procedure.
Hilary Clinton hit out at the decision, saying: “Most Americans believe the decision to have a child is one of the most sacred decisions there is, and that such decisions should remain between patients and their doctors. Today’s Supreme Court opinion will live in infamy as a step backward for women’s rights and human rights.”
Singer Taylor Swift said she was "absolutely terrified" while Michelle Obama released a lengthy statement shortly after the ruling was announced, saying she was "heartbroken" that the U.S. is returning to the "painful lessons of a time before Roe was made law of the land."
Scots star Julie was praised by followers on Instagram for her honesty and decision to speak out. One said: "Agreed. Very honest of u to share this. Your girls are beautiful x"
One added: "Cheers. We love your support in the States." One said: "What a great message and beautiful photo of your girls."
And one added: "This is what we all@needed to hear xx well done my girl xxx."
