ScotRail trains 'severely' disrupted as police close line after incident

Train services are "severely" disrupted between Helensburgh and Dalmuir due to a police incident.

ScotRail has warned that all lines are closed at Dalmuir and services running through this station are cancelled, revised, or delayed.

As a result, all trains between Partick and Hyndland are "severely disrupted".

The train operator also said trains will terminate and start from Hyndland or Exhibition Centre where possible.

British Transport Police have been approached for comment.

Customers are warned to check their journey before travelling as the changes are expected to last until 6pm tonight.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, police evacuated homes in Overtoun Court in Clydebank, next to the railway line and station, after a suspicious item was discovered.

They have informed the explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) unit and they have evacuated several properties in the nearby area as a precaution.

People are also being advised to avoid the area whilst enquires remain ongoing.
