ScotRail have tabled an improved pay offer for train drivers in a bid to end the country’s rail crisis.
Trade union ASLEF said a day of negotiations had ended with a 4.2% pay offer and improved conditions.
They will now put the offer to their members.
The train operator, which was nationalised in April, introduced a scaled back timetable on Monday amid a pay dispute with train drivers union ASLEF.
The row has led to drivers refusing to work overtime and on rest days, with ScotRail cutting more than 700 services across the country.
ASLEF Scottish Organiser Kevin Lindsay said: “ASLEF entered these talks in good faith. We have negotiated a pay offer of 4.2%, a three year no compulsory redundancy deal and a number of other improvements. These will now be put to our members for their consideration.”
