ScotRail has announced it has withdrawn services from Glasgow due to extremely heavy rain.
The rail operator took to Twitter to confirm that Network Rail is limiting train speeds. It stated that this was being done due to safety reasons amid the severe weather.
ScotRail confirmed that, as a result, journeys on many routes will take longer than usual. It also announced that local services between Glasgow Queen Street and Perth have been withdrawn.

A statement posted on social media explained: "Due to extremely heavy rain, Network Rail are limiting train speeds for safety reasons.
"Journeys on many routes will take longer. Our local services between Glasgow Qn St & Perth have been withdrawn."
