Police are appealing for witnesses after a train conductor was shoved to the ground and spat at by a gang of youths.
The female staff member was verbally abused on the 3.55pm ScotRail service from East Kilbride to Glasgow Central service on Sunday, February 27.
The group harassed her throughout their journey before the train pulled into Hairmyres station at 4pm when she was followed off onto the platform.
The worker was shouted and sworn at before being pushed to the ground and spat at by two teenage boys.
The shocked worker was able to walk away but was verbally abused again by a teenage girl, who had followed her.
British Transport Police say the group was made up of five or six teenagers, all aged between 14 and 16.
The first male is described as white, of slim build and wearing a grey hoodie with tracksuit bottoms.
The second had a round face, of a slim build, with short dark hair and was wearing a dark tracksuit.
The third male youth had tanned skin, a slim build, dark eyes and was wearing a dark tracksuit with grey on it.
And the fourth was a white male of slim build, with short dark hair who was wearing a white and navy tracksuit top and bottoms.
The female from the group is described as white, of a slim build and wore her dark hair in a ponytail.
At the time of the incident she was wearing a white and grey long-sleeved top.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information which could assist their enquiries.
