ScotRail has announced that "all lines" between Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and Bellgrove are closed due to an electrical fault.
At approximately 7.30am, the rail operator took to Twitter to reveal that a small fire had caused a failure of the electric supply, impacting services running the full route between Edinburgh and Helensburgh, Milngavie, and Balloch.
Writing on Twitter, the operator said: "Due to failure of the electricity supply between Glasgow Queen Street Low Level and Bellgrove, all lines are closed.

"This will impact services running the full route between Edinburgh and Helensburgh / Milngavie / Balloch."
In a second update, ScotRail posted: "Overhead lines have been switched off whilst Emergency services are on site. All services on this route are subject to delay / cancellation at this time."
The operator also wrote: "Tickets can be used on Glasgow City buses:

In a separate tweet, Network Rail Scotland commented: "We are on site to examine overhead lines following a failure of the electric supply via Queen St Low Level, caused by a small fire. Emergency services are also on site.
"We are working to get the power restored here as quickly as possible."
