Scots flying out to Spain to enjoy some summer sun have been issued a warning regarding extreme heat in the country.
Temperatures are expected to soar past 40 degrees Celsius in certain regions.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News, the unexpected heatwave follows the news that India and Pakistan have seen similarly high temperatures — rising as high as 50C in recent weeks.

Travellers headed to Spain next week have been urged to pack sunscreen, as well as keep hydrated and stay in the shade as much as possible during the day.
AEMET, Spain's meteorological agency, has told people to "be prepared" for the "unusually" high temperatures, with some parts of Southern Spain seeing highs of 42C.
An AEMET spokesperson stated: "Very high temperatures will exceed 35C in many parts of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
"It may reach 40C to 42C in parts of the south and Ebro, with very warm nights. It will be a truly unusual episode for the time."
Forecasters have estimated that temperatures this month will hit between 5 and 10 degrees higher than the May average.
This weekend is expected to see the hottest days, while "tropical nights" expected throughout next week.
