Scotland to face France five days after Spain as away clash with Kylian Mbappe and Co confirmed

Scotland are set to come up against World Cup finalists France later this year.

Steve Clarke and his troops will travel to the Decathlon Arena in Lille on Tuesday, 17 October to face Les Blues in an international friendly - five days after taking on another European giant in the shape of Spain in the return fixture of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying.

The Dark Blues are unbeaten in their last six competitive games and are currently top of the group in the road to reach the finals after the perfect start with back to back home wins. The Tartan Army watched their heroes dump Cyprus 3-0 in the opener before recording a famous win over Spain under the lights with Scott McTominay firing home twice in a 2-0 win.

The clash with France will give the national team the chance to test themselves against the best in the world including superstar Kylian Mbappe - who scored a hat-trick in the World Cup Final as his side lost out to Lionel Messi and Argentina on penalties after a thrilling 3-3 draw.

To this day fans still talk about THAT James McFadden strike that earned an unforgettable victory for Scotland in the Parc des Princes in 2007. Gary Cadwell stabbed home the winner in the home match of that Euro qualifying campaign to record a famous double.

Scotland are next in action in June as they travel to Norway before hosting Georgia. It's then Cyprus away and an international home friendly with England in September before Spain and France in October with Georgia on the road and Norway at home in November.
