Scotland starlet Doak 'really enjoying' football as he reflects on loan experience

Ben Doak is "really enjoying" playing first team football with Middlesbrough after the Scotland internationalist had a key role in their 5-1 thrashing of Luton Town on Saturday.

Doak may only be 19-years-old, yet the Celtic youth academy graduate is taking to senior football like a duck to water, having penned a season-long loan deal at The Riverside Stadium from Liverpool this summer.

He provided two assists during the rout of Luton in the English Championship, earning a 8.9/10 rating by FotMob for his impressive performance.

That followed up an 8.4 worthy showing, which included a sublime assist, against Queens Park Rangers a few days earlier.

Doak will now join up with Steve Clarke's Scotland squad for their upcoming UEFA Nations League double-header versus Croatia and Poland.

“It was great, and I think it was about time we put four or five goals in," the winger told Middlesbrough's in-house media prior over the weekend.

"It’s been coming - the amount of chances we create as a team. The game midweek and then this one, it’s more than what we deserve. It’s a terrific six points going into the international break.

"I’m really enjoying my football playing with these lot. I’m really starting to build a connection with a lot of the lads - they know my strengths and are doing a really good job of catering to them.

"I’m absolutely loving it. Every young lad just wants to play footie, it doesn’t matter what level. I’m lucky to be playing for such a good team and at such a good club.”
