The small spot located in the Scottish Highlands named among the "most captivating" tiny tourist attractions by The Times was Hermit’s Castle.
Built in the 1950s by English architect David Scott, the "bothy-sized" castle in Achmelvich was described as lying above "magnificent beaches" in a part of Scotland known for its "turquoise-lapped white sands" that look as though they were taken from "a chillier version of the Caribbean".
The newspaper said: "Built in the 1950s by the English architect David Scott, the bothy-sized fortress is easy to miss, with its grey concrete blending in seamlessly with surrounding rocks, which makes tracking it down part of the fun."
It is recommended that those wanting to visit this strange structure stay in the nearby village's "luxurious Inver Lodge Hotel, which has just the right amount of tartan as well as a fine dining restaurant."
Visitors on Tripadvisor have praised it as "a cool and quirky way of killing an afternoon and enjoying the views."
