SCOTLAND'S national librarian returned to the home of her own "library love story" as part of a nationwide campaign ahead of Valentine's Day.
Amina Shah, who is the chief executive of the National Library of Scotland, was at Dundee Central Library to celebrate Love Libraries.
Love Libraries is a nationwide campaign by the National Library of Scotland to celebrate its 100th year.
It officially launches on Valentine’s Day on Friday and will continue until October 2025.
Dundee Central Library is the heart of Shah’s own library love story, and she used her return to celebrate libraries and all there is to love about them with local "Bookbug" participants.
The campaign gives libraries and other organisations and supporters throughout Scotland plenty of time to get involved and drum up enthusiasm for all things libraries.
Shah said: “Libraries in Scotland are part of a network and we want to take the opportunity, in the National Library’s 100th year, to celebrate all kinds of libraries and the impact they have on people’s lives.
“During times of challenge and uncertainty, there is an opportunity to remember the power of sharing space, stories, knowledge, memories and information.
"The purpose of libraries, at their very heart, was always around community. That seems to be very much the spirit that people are returning to which is heartwarming and hopeful."
