SCOTLAND'S flooding hotspots have been named in a new list with strong winds, heavy rain and snow expected to hit this weekend.
Several Met Office weather warnings are in place with Storm Eowyn expected to bring winds of up to 90mph.
A new study conducted by MG Timber has ranked the 10 areas of Scotland with the most rainfall which, according to researchers, reveals the places “most likely to flood”.
Coming in at number one on the list is Dumfries, which had a total rainfall of 1404mm last year.
In second place was Dumbarton while Clydebank came in third.
Here’s a look at the top 10 along with how much rainfall they had last year.

- Renfrew – 1301mm

The study also revealed the area’s with the least rainfall.

- Dundee – 650mm
- Peterhead – 663mm
- Arbroath – 685mm
- Elgin – 755mm
- Glenrothes – 801mm
- Kirkcaldy and Dysart – 814mm
- Edinburgh – 843mm
- Broxburn – 853mm

An amber warning for wind is in place on Friday for most of southern Scotland from 6am until 9pm.
The Met Office has said “injuries and danger to life could occur” from flying debris as well as large waves.
