Households in South Ayrshire have been among the best at completing Scotland's census.
Return rates topped 81 per cent as of Monday, latest figures have revealed.
By comparison, just 73.9 per cent of homes in East Ayrshire had completed their forms.
And in North Ayrshire, the rate stood at only 72.4 per cent.
It comes as residents across the country are being warned they may face a £1,000 fine if they fail to complete the important form.
The census is the official count of every person and household in Scotland. Answers provided to questions help build up a picture of the population for the government and other service providers.
But hundreds of thousands of homes have yet to complete the vital documentation and have been set a deadline of this Saturday, May 1.
Aberdeenshire boasts Scotland's best completion rate at 82.2 per cent.
While West Dunbartonshire, at 69.1 per cent, props up the league table.
Every household in the country should have been given a letter on February 28 with instructions of how to take part.
It asks a range of topics from the type of accommodation people stay in, relationships, age, sex, employment status and health.
Census questions are split into two categories – household and individual.
Household questions ask about your home and who is living/staying there.
And individual questions ask about the people living in your household which includes babies and children.
To fill out the questionnaire online, go to the completion website and follow the instructions on the census letter.
If you don't return a completed census, you will be committing a crime.
