New research has revealed the best value five-star hotels in the UK and Ireland for a mini-break this festive season and one Scottish destination has made the list.
Luggage storage service Bounce analysed hotels across the UK and Ireland on their customer reviews as well as their nightly room costs to reveal the best value luxury hotels overall.
Looking to Scotland, Cromlix appears at number six on the list, with 90.61 per cent of reviews being either 'very good' or 'excellent' and average nightly cost of £291. The luxury hotel is owned by Sir Andy Murray and is located near the tennis superstar's hometown of Dunblane.
Murray purchased the luxury retreat in 2013. The Scot has since transformed the Victorian Perthshire mansion into an elegant destination with 10 bedrooms, five suites, and one-bedroom gate lodge.
The hotel boasts a Chez Roux restaurant, which was originally overseen by the late legendary French chef Albert Roux, and is now overseen by his son Michel Roux Jr and run by award-winning executive head chef Darin Campbell.
According to the Cromlix website, the restaurant is housed in the glass-walled conservatory overlooking the grounds and offers diners a ringside view of the chefs at work in the extensive open kitchen.
Guests can also take part in a number of activities at the hotel, including whisky and history tours, fishing, golf, and archery. There is also a tennis court and specialised tennis coaching.
