EIGHT cocktail bars in Scotland have been named among the 50 best in the UK in a prestigious annual ranking.
Top 50 Cocktail Bars honour, which is unveiled every year, is said to be the "definitive list of where to drink in the UK" and is decided upon by a "handpicked voting academy of experts who are key people in the hospitality industry".
The final list of the best cocktail bars will be released next year on February 11 at a "glittering" event at the Underglobe in London.
The places named included spots like The Absent Ear in Glasgow, a "delightfully disorientating speakeasy," and the Nauticus Bar in Edinburgh which has been praised for championing Scottish liquor.
Both of these spots have also received acclaim from visitors with users on Tripadvisor giving The Absent Ear and Nauticus 4/5 and 5/5 ratings.
Discussing The Absent Ear, one visitor said that it is a "fantastic place" with a "great atmosphere".
They added that the staff were "brilliant" when they visited and that it was "different to a standard pub" in the city.
