The top B&Bs in the UK for 2023 have been revealed at this year's AA B&B Awards and two of them are located in Scotland.
For the prestigious awards, a team of AA inspectors selected eight B&Bs across the nation in recognition of their "outstanding hospitality, service, and commitment to quality". Scotland picked up awards in two categories: Accommodation of the Year and Breakfast of the Year.
The former was won by The Crusoe in the Fife town of Leven, which overlooks the harbour onto the Forth in Lower Largo. It was praised for the "luxurious extras" in its bedrooms, which have stunning views over the water.
Meanwhile, Craigadam in the Dumfries and Galloway town of Castle Douglas took home the prize for Breakfast of the Year in Scotland. Offering a full breakfast buffet including cereals, yoghurt, and fresh juices along with cooked items, Craigadam was singled out for its "gracious and relaxed environment".
Other categories at the AA B&B Awards included Friendliest B&B of the Year, Inn of the Year, and Breakfast of the Year. This year's winners represent every corner of the UK, from the Scots destinations to The Fylde International in Blackpool and Parc-Le-Breos House near Swansea.
Managing Director at AA Hotel & Hospitality Services, which operates the AA quality assessment schemes, Simon Numphud commented: "This year we’ve seen an extraordinary level of individuality, which is demonstrated by our winners’ inherent essence of charm and character.
"I’m proud to announce this year’s winners, who continue to set the highest standards and welcome guests with open arms.
"With so many brilliant B&Bs to choose from, holidaymakers can explore Britain safe in the knowledge there will be a comfortable haven to rest their heads and satisfy their tastebuds wherever they decide to go."
