Scots should brace for a downpour of rain as parts of the country will be placed under a yellow weather warning today.
The Met Office warning states that there could be 'spray and flooding on roads' and will be in place from 3pm until 11.59pm on Tuesday, April 11, meaning rush hour journeys may take longer than usual.
Areas in the south of the country including Dumfries and Galloway, as well as western areas such as Inverclyde and North Ayrshire are included in the warning.
The Met Office warning states: "Persistent rain, heavy at times, will extend northeastwards across Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland this afternoon.
"Accumulations of 20 to 30 mm are expected over a few hours with 30 to 40 mm possible over high ground. Drier weather will develop across Northern Ireland early this evening and southwest Scotland towards midnight."
The warnings comes as the meteorological experts predict an "unsettled" week ahead with strong winds, low temperatures and heavy rain.
Forecasters have even suggested that snow is "likely" to fall over some northern parts of the country.

The fresh warning comes amid a separate yellow warning for wind that will mostly impact England, but also impacts Dumfries and Galloway.
The wind warning is in place until 11pm this evening and travel delays as well as "short term loss of power" are to be expected.
Speaking on this week's weather, Met Office Chief Meteorologist, Matthew Lehnert, said: "A low pressure system will bring a period of wet and windy weather today and tomorrow.
"Thick cloud and heavy rain will continue to push in from west bringing 50 to 60 mph winds along western coasts. Snow is likely to fall over parts of upland Scotland overnight.
"Some disruption due to strong winds is likely on Wednesday, especially in southern and western areas, as well as the potential for heavy rainfall and even some snow, though the latter probably confined to high ground in the north.
"It will be another cool day with temperatures of 7 to 10 C in the west, with 11 to 13 C possible in the southeast, however it will feel colder in the strong winds."
