Scotland have not ruled out Finn Russell and Darcy Graham for the Six Nations clash with England.
The duo, who were involved in a first-half collision during the defeat to Ireland, are "progressing" through head injury protocols.
An update from Scottish Rugby confirmed that the players remain with the squad and are working through return-to-play guidance.
The aim is for them to return to full training before the end of the week.
Russell passed his initial head injury assessment but was sidelined after concerns were raised about his memory.
Gregor Townsend, following the Ireland defeat, believed Russell showed delayed concussion symptoms and would be treated as though he had failed his HIA.
However, the latest update suggests both players might feature on Saturday.
In the meantime, Scotland have bolstered their squad by calling up scrum-half Ali Price, centre Cam Redpath, and wing Ross McCann.
Redpath, who debuted in the Scotland win over England at Twickenham in 2021, has recently returned from injury and played twice for Bath.
He was called up after Edinburgh's Matt Currie suffered a concussion against Zebre on Friday night.
Price was included after George Horne sustained a facial injury playing for Glasgow on Sunday.
Scottish Rugby said the Warriors half-back has not yet joined Scotland's warm-weather training camp in Spain and is being assessed by his club's medical team.
Number eight Alexander Masibaka, a surprise call-up before the championship, has returned to his club Soyaux-Angouleme.
