Scott McTominay was again the two-goal hero as Scotland stunned Spain with a sensational 2-0 Euro 2024 qualifying win at a delirious Hampden Park.
The Manchester United midfielder, who climbed off the bench to score twice to clinch the 3-0 home win against Cyprus on Saturday, struck again after seven minutes to shock the Spanish side and probably the Tartan Army too. Angus Gunn's goal survived a few scares in the first half as the Spanish reacted fiercely but McTominay grabbed a second six minutes after the restart to take Steve Clarke's men top of Group A with six points from six. It was a sobering evening for Luis de la Fuente, in his second game as Spain boss following the 3-0 win over Norway at the weekend.
However, it was a momentous result for Scotland - Spain last lost to the Scots in 1984 at Hampden Park - and it was helped further by the 1-1 draw between Norway and Georgia - June's opponents - earlier in the day.

RYAN PORTEOUS - Watford stopper kept it simple as he made his tackles and won his share of battles. Launched into a brave second-half saving tackle in penalty box and hurled himself at headers. 9
GRANT HANLEY - Centre-back marshalled the backline from the central area and stood strong as Joselu tried to con a penalty. Good positional sense and superb second half. 9
KIERAN TIERNEY - Tigerish display on the left side of the back three from the Arsenal defender and a brilliant interception and run to set-up second Scotland goal. Off after 75 minutes. 9
ANDY ROBERTSON - Took advantage of Porro slip to set-up McTominay goal. Anxious wait before booking for dunting Porro in a risky move and long ball put Dykes away for a glorious chance. 8
CALLUM McGREGOR - Patrolled the midfield area and spent much of the first period hustling and pressing the ball. Selfless shift out of possession and covered ground and cut off Spanish routes. 8
SCOTT McTOMINAY - Recalled to starting line-up and deflected strike opened the scoring. Brilliant left-foot volley to double his team’s lead. Four goals in two games for Man Utd star. Unforgettable night. 9
JOHN McGINN - Shuttled between trying to support the attacks and dropping in to assist on Hickey’s side. Superb work and dead balls a big problem for Kepa. Hit the bar with one. 8
RYAN CHRISTIE - Bournemouth ace started behind Dykes and poked a shot just wide after a surging 30-yard run. Bought free-kicks for his team, clever and a great show. 8
LYNDON DYKES - Striker contested every aerial challenge and yellow card for catching Garcia. Missed a golden one-on-one chance to make it 2-0. Tireless second half of graft. 8
