Scotland forward 'agrees' £4.5m transfer to ambitious English Championship outfit

Middlesbrough have reached an agreement with Bristol City for the transfer of Scotland international Tommy Conway.

Valued at £4.5 million, the promising forward is set to travel to the Riverside Stadium on Thursday morning to complete a medical examination before being unveiled at his new club, who eased passed Leeds United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening. 

Conway’s arrival is expected to bolster Boro's attacking options, providing healthy competition for Emmanuel Latte Lath in the English Championship team’s roster.

The 22-year-old was among the Scotland squad for Euro 2024 in Germany this summer after replacing the injured Lyndon Dykes. 

He failed to make an appearance at the tournament yet his 12 goals from 43 appearances during the 2023/24 campaign has clearly proved enough to convince Middlesbrough to part with a significant transfer fee. 

Both Celtic and Rangers had been linked with Conway in the past.
