Scots are being warned to brace for more turbulent weather, as the country is to see snow, ice, wind and rain hit in one weekend.
The Met Office have extended a yellow weather alert for "strong winds and heavy rain" that is to hit most of western and southern Scotland on Saturday, January 14. A separate warning for ice in the north is in place for later in the day, with drivers being warned over travel disruptions due to "icy stretches on untreated areas."
Rain is due to start falling on Saturday afternoon and will last until after midnight. Up to 10cm of snow is due to fall on Southern Uplands from 10pm on Saturday until Sunday morning.
This will develop into more widespread snow showers as a third yellow alert for snow and ice is in place from Sunday afternoon until next week. Forecasters predict up to 15cm of snow fall, warning motorists over further travel disruption.
A fresh ice warning has been issued on Sunday, January 15, for southern parts of the country and will last until Monday morning. In addition, seven flood alerts have been issued by the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). Residents across the country should prepare for travel delays and possible road closures.
A combination of high tides and prevailing weather conditions means that flooding from the sea may affect low lying land, while wintery showers are predicted for inland areas. This is expected to result in flooding in some areas and cause travel disruption.
Here's everything to know about Scotland's latest weather warnings, including how long they will last and areas affected.
