It revealed that Trafford ranks sixth with 33.73 per cent of highly-rated schools, narrowly behind Westminster in fifth with 34.69pc. West London's super-rich borough of Kensington and Chelsea ranks as the optimal place to live for the best schools, offering the highest percentage of outstanding schools at 51.2pc.

Richmond upon Thames and Harrow were placed place as the second and third best areas for outstanding education with 46.43pc and 41.51pc, respectively. The Isle of Wight (0pc), Blackpool (5.13pc), and Dudley (5.15pc) rank as the bottom three.

The study is by the childcare and education organisation Little Ones London. A spokesperson for Little Ones London said: “Every parent wants the best education for their children, so living close to good schools is a priority for many families.

"The results from this study offer an intriguing insight into which specific areas of England can offer the best education, with London dominating the list.” Little Ones London is a childcare and housekeeping service with offices in the heart of central London.

A spokesperson for Trafford Council said: “Trafford Council is exceptionally proud of all our schools and we are extremely grateful to our school leaders, their staff, governors and our families, who work tirelessly to ensure our pupils are supported to achieve so highly. We continue to be committed to high standards of educational attainment across the borough so that all of our children and young people receive the quality education that they deserve.”
