A gang of youths have been arrested following a series of assaults where children as young as nine were filmed being attacked.
Three juveniles were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and threats to kill following a wave of assaults in Wigan town centre in February and March this year.
The youths, aged between 11 and 13, were transported into custody in Wigan where they were all questioned by specialist Greater Manchester Police officers. They have all since been bailed with conditions pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Chris Broad of GMP’s Wigan CID, said: "These arrests come from a series of assaults in Wigan town centre, where young children, the youngest being 9 years old have been targeted and then assaulted whilst being filmed on mobile phones. Our enquiries remain ongoing and we are appealing for any information that people may have in relation to these incidents to get in touch with officers.
