Schoolchildren arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty released

Three teenagers arrested on suspicion of cruelty to an animal have been bailed.

Police confirmed they received reports of animal cruelty at a property on Westminster Avenue, Bootle, taking place on Sunday, March 5. As a result, two boys, aged 13, and one girl, aged 16, from Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty offences and taken into police custody earlier this week.

Now officers have confirmed three have all been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries. After the incident one cat was left in a critical but stable condition.
