Two schoolboys were left in the middle of the road after being knocked off a bike by a driver who then "drove off."
At around 3pm on Monday (October 17), a 13-year-old boy was giving his friend, also 13, a lift on the handlebars of his bike back from the shops when what is believed to be a silver car knocked the pair off the bike, sending them both into the middle of the road.
People who witnessed the incident, on Wallasey Village Road in Wallasey, Wirral, reported hearing the sound of the impact between one of the boys' knees and the car. The boy's mum said its "all a bit of a blur" to her son, who "doesn't remember" much about the incident.

The mum, who did not want to be named, told the ECHO : "He had been the shop and his mate was giving him a ride back to the bus stop, so he was on the handle bars.
"[He] got an injury to his knee where the car hit, so we are getting it checked out to make sure there's no bad damage on the inside. I know I would never leave anyone who I had hit, especially not kids."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We were contacted at 5.05pm yesterday (Monday) to report that around 3.10pm two teenage boys on a pedal cycle were in collision with a car on Wallasey Village Road.
"One of the boys was uninjured and the second suffered a minor injury to his knee. The car is believed to have continued driving in the direction of Green Lane. Enquiries are ongoing."
