A schoolboy has been arrested after a pensioner was allegedly attacked in Lanarkshire.
A 74-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Torbex Road, Cumbernauld on Tuesday, July 26.
Lanarkshire Police Division confirmed on Monday that the OAP was 'injured as a result' of the 'incident'. Officers, however, did not disclose the severity of his injuries nor if he required hospital treatment nor the time of the 'assault'.
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection. The teenager is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a laster date.

Inspector Graeme McLaughlin stressed that police are aware of 'concerns of anti-social behaviour' in the area. More officers have been drafted in to patrol the streets of Cumbernauld as a result.
Concerned locals are urged to approach cops in the area with any concerns.
Inspector Graeme McLaughlin said : “We are aware of concerns of anti-social behaviour and disorder in Cumbernauld recently and I would like to reassure the public that we have increased patrols and I would encourage members of the public to approach officers with any concerns you may have or contact Police Scotland on 101.”
