A nine-year-old schoolboy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.
Merseyside Police were called to Derbyshire Hill Road, close to Parr Sports and Community Centre in St Helens, at 3.25pm on Thursday, October 20, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a nine-year-old boy was ran over by a Renault Twingo.
Police closed the road between Berwyn Grove and Swan Avenue while emergency services worked at the scene. The boy was rushed to hospital by the North West Ambulance Service for an assessment of his injuries.

The boy's condition is not yet known. Merseyside Police have confirmed the driver of the Renault Twingo stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
Merseyside Police are asking people to avoid the area and find an alternative route at this time.
