Schoolboy, 13, dies four days after being hit by car in Glasgow

A teenage boy has tragically died just days after being hit by a car in Glasgow. Artian Lushaku was knocked down by a red Toyota Aygo on Balmore Road shortly before 6pm on May 10.

Paramedics raced the 13-year-old to the Royal Hospital for Children with medics later describing his condition as critical. Sadly, the teen passed away on Sunday, May 14.

Police Scotland are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are keen to speak to the driver of a white van that was seen in the area.

Sergeant Nicholas Twigg said: “This is a deeply distressing time for Artian’s family as they try to come to terms with his death. It’s imperative we establish the full circumstances of the collision and our investigation remains ongoing.

“We are keen to hear from the driver of a white van who was in the area around the time of the incident and we would ask them to get in touch with us as we believe they could assist with our ongoing investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3122 of 10 May, 2023.
