Schoolboy stunned after finding enormous 9cm crisp in Aldi 'Hula Hoop' packet

A schoolboy was left shocked after opening his pack of Aldi 's version of Hula Hoops to discover one which was nine centimetres long.

Will Potts felt proud to discover the enormous snack and decided not to eat it.

The 10-year-old kept it safe in his lunchbox to take home at the end of the day.

He even put a ruler next to it, to demonstrate its mammoth length.

The exceptionally large treat weighs a staggering six grams.

Will's mum Angela said: “It was a multipack of Hoops from Aldi. My son Will had a pack in his packed lunch at school.

“When he came home he said ‘Look what was in my crisp pack’.”

Angela, of Chester, Cheshire, said: “He opened his lunchbox and showed me the giant hoop.

“We said he didn’t want to eat it, we still have it.

“We told Aldi and they said it was amazing and to contact Guinness world records so we have.”

She bought the pack of eight Hoops from her local store for £1.35.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Thanks for sharing this with us. Possibly the biggest crisp we’ve ever seen.

“We recommend contacting Guinness World Records for that monster crisp.”

Similarly, in September, a mum was stunned as she found a whopping six-inch-long monster crisp.

Jemma Carter from Surrey was getting through a packet of Walkers Roast Chicken flavoured crisps when she hit a snag and could not get one of the crisps out of the packet.

When she shook the packet to set it free, she realised that one of the crisps was huge and six inches long, taking up the whole of her hand.

She said: "It's the biggest crisp I've ever seen. When I saw it I just thought 'this is absolutely massive, no one will believe it's so big'. I'd never seen one that big before."

The mum said: "My eldest son Robbie said to me 'wow I think you've got a world record, you're going to get thousands of pounds for that'.

"I shook it a bit to get it out and I was thinking 'oh my god, what is this?' It was bigger than my hand."

The mum-of-two explained that all her family love crisps and is hopeful to find another whopper in another packet soon.
