West Derby School has sent out a message to parents after a teenage boy was stabbed and slashed outside.
Merseyside Police rushed to the outside of West Derby School at around 3pm on Thursday following reports of a stabbing.
Once at the scene officers found a teenage boy, believed to be a pupil at the all boys school in Tuebrook, had been stabbed in the buttocks and suffered a slash wound to his wrist when he left the building.

The teenager was rushed to hospital, where he is in a stable condition.
Officers confirmed a second boy, a teenager from Liverpool, was arrested on suspicion of assault following the attack on West Derby Road. They also said the weapon was recovered.
Detective Inspector Jennie Beck said: “Although an arrest has been made, our enquiries continue, and we’d still urge anyone who witnessed the incident, saw any suspicious behaviour, to please contact us. Either tell us directly or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
“The use of knives and any weapons is reckless and will not be tolerated, and can have devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved.
"I would urge people to educate themselves and speak to their children and family members about the dangers of knife crime.”
A number of police cars and vans were called to the scene along with the North West Ambulance Service and a forensics unit.
Within the cordon outside the front of the school there was a plastic bag covering a section of the pavement with a tub of screen wash.
A forensics officer was seen taking pictures of the pavement underneath the plastic bag and taking a specimen of something on the floor.
West Derby School sent an email to parents and carers after the incident to let them know what had happened.
The letter read: "Dear parents and carers, We are aware there was an altercation outside the school today, and we are currently working with the police on this matter.
"I will speak to all children in the morning to reassure them. Many thanks."
One parent said the school is "really safe" and was happy the teachers had sent a reassuring message.
She said: "My son is at the school, it's a really good school. I am so glad he's [the victim] ok, probably mentally will take much longer to recover
"The staff are lovely and have already sent out messages to all the pupils and are going to have talks to reassure to them tomorrow and to talk to someone if they need it. It really is a safe school, great staff and fantastic kids."
Joseph Dunne, councillor for Tuebrook and Stoneycroft, described the incident as "shocking".
He said: "This is shocking for our community, the parents and the staff/pupils at West Derby School."
Jennie Green said: "Hope the lad is ok. Absolutely ridiculous the amount of knife crime. Not a very nice world to bring our kids up in, the police need to be given more powers in these situations."
