School friends leave note with heartbreaking message to Lexi McDavid

Teddys, flowers and handwritten tributes have been left for a girl who died after being hit by a van.

Lexi McDavid was rushed to Alder Hey by air ambulance at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, June 7, after being knocked down by a white Mercedes van as she got off a bus on Princess Drive. She died in hospital a short time later.

Friends and family have since paid tribute to the schoolgirl, who went to Broughton Hall Catholic High School, who has been described as an 'angel.' A donation page set up for the funeral of the 12-year-old, from Huyton, has since raised more than £5,000.

A card which reads "we will miss you" has also been signed by a number of school friends, one wrote: "Miss you gorgeous. I'll be looking for you in the sunsets." Teddys, balloons, flowers and candles have also been left and butterfly decorations hang from a nearby tree.
