A south Dublin school is in mourning following the deaths of two young students who died in this morning's horrific tragedy in Tallaght.
Twins Christy and Chelsea Cawley, 8 years old, along with their sister Lisa Cash, 18, died this morning after gardai were alerted to an incident in Rossfield Estate at around 12:30am. The teenager and two children were rushed to Crumlin Children's Hospital and were pronounced dead.
In a statement on Sunday, the local St Aidan’s Senior National School in Tallaght, where Chelsea and Christy both attended, expressed their sadness at the tragedy. They said: "We are deeply saddened by the event that occurred over the weekend.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of the deceased. As a school, our priority will be to take every step to ensure that the needs of our students and their families are met, at this challenging time.
"We will be providing support to pupils and school staff to help them deal with this tragedy and have requested the support of the National Education Psychological Service in this respect. We will not be commenting further at this time."
The scene remains preserved for a forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. Post mortems will take place on the bodies later today and tomorrow by State Pathologist Dr Sally Anne Collis.
A male in his early 20s arrested at the scene continues to be detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Tallaght Garda Station.
A garda spokesperson said in a fresh update this evening: "Gardaí in Tallaght continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Lisa Cash Christy and Chelsea Cawley at a residence in Rossfield Estate, Tallaght, on Sunday.
"Their mother, a woman in her 40s, has been released from hospital and is currently being supported by her family. The Family Liaison Officer continues to keep her updated as to the course of this investigation."
Earlier today the Minister for Justice Helen McEntee said: "The killing of three young family members is a tragedy, so awful and heart-breaking. It is difficult to comprehend."
