A 10-year-old boy who died after being hit by a car had the "biggest smile on his face" and represented his school proudly in football and running.
Florence Melly Community Primary School has remembered pupil Charlie Lowe who died after being hit by a car on Abingdon Road, Walton. People rushed to help him before he was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries on Friday, April 21.
Aaron Leach, headteacher at Florence Melly, said Charlie was "always full of energy" and the school was "so lucky" to have him as a pupil. In a statement issued this morning, April 23, Mr Leach said: "Everyone at our school is utterly devastated by the loss of Charlie. It's a loss you just cannot comprehend.

"Charlie was such a popular boy with his classmates and staff alike, and we were so lucky to have him as a pupil at our school, part of our Flo Melly family. He was always full of energy and had an enthusiasm for everything he did. Everyday he bounded into school with the biggest smile on his face.
"He just loved football and cross-country and when he raced, he always represented the school proudly. You could always expect 100% commitment to our DREAMS core values from Charlie, in everything he did. On Friday, our school community came together to support each other.
"It was the hardest of days but we were there for each other and spent time remembering what an incredible boy Charlie was. We will continue to do everything we can to support his friends and our staff in the difficult days, weeks and months to come.
"Our hearts are broken for Charlie's family and we will be there for them every step of the way. They are, and will always be, a huge part of our Flo Melly family."
Yesterday Charlie's parents issued their own moving tributes. His mum said: "Football mad, Charlie was taken away suddenly and we will always miss him. He was a huge LFC fan and knew everything about the team. He was also a keen cross country runner.
"He was exceptionally happy, very smart and very funny. Charlie loved school and loved life and he will be sorely missed by everyone."
Charlie's dad added: "There isn't a word to describe how amazing and loved you are and how missed you will be. The most beautiful boy in the world. When you arrived I had to split my heart between you and your brother Daniel, sister Rachael and brother Bobby. I never knew for certain what real love was but I did when my amazing children entered my life.
"I will always cherish the short time I had with you, the hugs and kisses and laughs we had. The days out, you playing football and on FIFA. When I heard the tragic news, I came running to the hospital praying for a miracle. Charlie, I miss you mate so much it’s killing me inside as it is for your brothers and sister. All my love Charlie, I hope you rest in peace, Dad."
Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from the police's Matrix Roads Policing Unit said: "Our sincere condolences go out to the family and we will be supporting them in the coming days and weeks after this tragic incident. Enquiries continue and we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or captured anything on dashcam or other devices.
"You can contact us in various ways but please ensure you pass on any information as soon as you can, so we can establish the circumstances."
