School bus flips onto side injuring 11 children after it crashes into huge truck

A school bus crash has injured 11 children after colliding with a truck leaving passengers “with a wide range of injuries”, according to police.

Students, aged between 6 and 15, were on their way from school in Nebraska, in the US, at 4pm on Tuesday when the bus crashed and overturned on a rural highway.

The Chase County Sheriff’s Office said the bus was turning left when the vehicle crashed into the semi-trailer and caused the school bus to spin and flip over on its driver's side.

As the impact caused the semi-trailer truck, which was carrying grain, to stumble off-road where the vehicle crossed a ditch before coming to a standstill.

The bus driver and the eleven students were rushed to the Chase County Hospital “with a wide range of injuries,” according to police.

Three of the kids were taken to the regional trauma unit for their injuries.

The bus driver, a 39-year-old man, and the truck driver, a 20-year-old man, were both taken to hospital after the crash.

Nebraska State Police confirmed they are investigating the crash.

In addition, the cops are continuing to inspect the bus and truck as they look to reconstruct the crash to find out how the accident was caused.

The accident comes just days after two separate bus crashes in Utah with emergency services being called to Saratoga Springs and Spanish Fork Canyon on Monday.

A Hyudai car was trying to turn left into a petrol station when it collided with a school district bus in Saratoga Springs.

Police confirmed a woman, who was a passenger in the car, was tragically killed as the driver of the Hyudai was left injured and airlifted to the local hospital.

Driver 19-year-old Caden Simmons remains in hospital and is said to be in a critical condition - with the passenger named as 20-year-old Lauren Scott who sadly died.

The school district bus was carrying four students but fortunately the bus driver and the passengers were not injured in the crash.

Meanwhile, in the Spanish Fork Cayon in Utah, one person was killed after a car crashed into a semi-truck on the highway.

Emergency services were called to the scene after a fire broke out following the crash which saw firefighters trying to put out the fire.

The cause of the crash remains unknown at this moment in time as the Utah Highway Patrol were having to instruct traffic after they had to pull out the driver of the car.

It is not known what the truck was carrying but pieces of large debris were surrounding the scene.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing with authorities continuing their inquiries.
