Scarlett Moffatt has issued a concerning warning to fans after an alarming incident in London, which saw approached and followed by a stranger who told her he was 'taking her home.'
Right after she received widespread praise on Instagram for a body confidence post around 'boob gaps', Scarlett took to the social media platform shaken and in tears after something that happened when she got off the train at Kings Cross. Speaking from the safety of her hotel room, which she'd been helped too by two members of LNER staff, Scarlett explained that a man came up to her when she was leaving the station and told her he had come to to take her home.
Luckily, the LNER guards noticed Scarlett looking panicked as the man followed her and beckoned her over to them, before walking her to her hotel. Scarlett quickly realised that a post she made on her Instagram story about her getting on a train to London would have alerted the man to the face she'd be arriving in the city.

And with than it mind, she warned her millions of followers not to be as open with their whereabouts online. As she wiped tears away and tried to compose herself after the encounter, former I'm A Celebrity winner Scarlett said: "I'm doing this so that people realise the importance of using social media and not always posting where you are. I stupidly, naïvely posted that I was off to London the train.
After explaining what had happened, Scarlett added: "I think it's just hit me how scary that was. I want to say, do not post where you are as you never know who's looking at your stories."
She even held off on posting a picture of the two LNER staff members who helped her, for risk of giving away which hotel she was staying in.
ChronicleLive readers were quick to support Scarlett when the story was posted on Facebook, with some sharing similar experiences. One posted: "I remember being followed a few years back in London it was so scary," with another responding: "This should be a lesson to everyone, not only was a person's safety potentially put at risk by an innocent post, but also that there are people in this world that function differently than the expected social normality, yes she is a celebrity, but this happens to normal people too, my two cents only share travel plans with the people who need to know and don't put yourself in a compromising position."
