'Scared' - Andy Robertson makes Luis Diaz claim after Liverpool goal against Brighton

Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has praised team-mate Luis Diaz - saying the Colombia international is 'unplayable' at times.

The Reds' newest signing has settled in well at Anfield and already has two goals to his name in all competitions.

Diaz was on the scoresheet against Brighton on Saturday afternoon with a brave headed effort in the first half that also saw him get flattened by goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Robertson, when asked how the winger has got off to such a flying start, didn't hold back in his praise of the former Porto man.

PAUL GORST: Mohamed Salah has just sent louder Liverpool message to FSG than sniping agent ever could

PLAYER RATINGS: Sadio Mane sensational but four others superb at Brighton

"Probably because he doesn't speak a bit of English and he doesn't understand me," he joked on BT Sport post-match.

"He's been incredible since he's come in, he's been special and he's hit the ground running.

"I think today he was unplayable at times, driving at defences, you can see people are scared of him and he's got an end product.

"Like you said, it's never easy coming in January and sometimes you need to find your feet but he's done it really quickly and long may that continue."

Diaz has only been at Liverpool a matter of months but he is already building a formidable partnership with Robertson on the left flank and the Scotland international hopes that it will only get stronger with time.

"I think he's learning, slowly but surely," Robertson added.

"He knows where I want him and where I'm going to put the ball to him and he knows where I'm going to run as well.

"I think we've got a good relationship already, we're linking up really well and hopefully it will only get better and stronger."
