SC seeks Maharashtra's response over property demolition

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday sought response from Maharashtra authorities over a petition on demolition of a house and shop in Sindhudurg district. 

The plea demanded contempt case over the demolition over an alleged anti-India slogans raised during a cricket match in the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy.

The petitioner has said that the demolition was carried out by the authorities over a baseless complaint regarding sloganning during the India versus Pakistan in the Champions Trophy. 

"Issue notice," a bench of Justices B R Gavai and Augustine George Masih said.

The two judge bench said the petition would be heard after four weeks.
