Luxury hospitality group, sbe is continuing to expand the SLS portfolio with its first property in the Middle East, SLS Dubai Hotels & Residences scheduled to start taking reservations in June 2020. It will be one of the tallest residences in the region, which is quite an impressive scale by Dubai standards.
The highly anticipated 75-story tower will house 254 expertly designed hotel rooms by lauded UAE designer Paul Bishop, 371 residential units, 321 hotel apartments and in true SLS fashion, the deluxe spaces will be dripping in contemporary art and sleek accents that are so characteristic of the brand’s DNA.
Upon arrival, hotel guests will enter through the ground atrium and take an express elevator to the opulent Sky Lobby 71 stories up. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensconce a deluxe lounge and lobby bar, and offer panoramic views of the “City of Gold”.
Dining options will feature sbe’s acclaimed brands and mixology lounges from their roster including Italian restaurant Fi’lia, which will serve as the hotel’s all-day eatery with active food stations and a display kitchen, adding an element of visual entertainment to guests’ dining experience. The more formal option will be at Carna, a steakhouse concept by award-winning Italian butcher Dario Cecchini located on the 74th floor with a dedicated bar, private dining rooms, wine cellars and an open kitchen.
The property will also feature SLS’ custom spa concept, Ciel with 7 treatment rooms, dedicated male and female thermal areas that contain steam rooms, experience showers, plunge pools and relaxation rooms, as well as a full-service grooming salon, a fully equipped gym and two outdoor terraces.
The greatest feature of all, however, is found up on the roof, where two infinity pools are cascading off the edge 75 stories high and offer a stunning 360-degree view of Dubai’s glittery skyline and the iconic Burj Khalifa. Swimming at the SLS is guaranteed to be the most luxurious and unrivaled sight-seeing in town.
“The Middle East is a very critical market for the overall growth of sbe,” Sam Nazarian, CEO of sbe shared with Forbes. “I am very proud to announce the upcoming opening of SLS Dubai Hotel & Residences in one of the most important business and tourism destinations in the world, and the epicenter of luxury. Not only will this property be home to the first SLS in the Middle East, but also home to the newest evolutions of our culinary, lounge and daylife concepts including contemporary steakhouse, Carna by Dario Cecchini, Fi’lia’s honest Italian, Privilege day club and one of our renowned mixology lounges. We are thrilled to collaborate with World of Wonders Real Estate Development and their chairman Mehmet Nazif Gunal.”
SLS Dubai will be an essential piece of sbe’s development in the Middle East that comes on the heels of successful openings of Mondrian Doha, Katsuya restaurants in Doha, Kuwait City, Dubai and a Cleo location in Kuwait City. The impending opening of SLS Dubai also speaks to the monumental growth of sbe’s residential platform with 1,300 branded units sold to-date, valued at $2 billion with an additional $1.8 billion in the pipeline.
