One of the quintessential autumnal treats has to be the mighty Pumpkin Spiced Latte, a powerfully cosy blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and, of course, pumpkin. Starbucks first started serving the signature espresso back in 2003, and it has since become just as much a part of the autumn season as falling leaves and Halloween movie marathons.
Fans may have noticed the price of the seasonal coffee has risen by 3% since 2021. A tall Pumpkin Spiced Latte will now set you back £3.65 - 10p more than the year before, however, this does vary between locations. Furthermore, the beverage has seen a 41% price hike on delivery apps such as Uber Eats and Deliveroo, where a tall drink will cost £5.15 excluding delivery charges.
With this in mind, experts from the recipe and food resources website FoodFireFriends have shared how you can whip up your very own Pumpkin Spiced Latte at home, for nearly 70% less.
Their homemade version costs 66% less when compared to Starbucks' classic offering, and will set you back a relatively thrifty £1.25 or £1.33 if you opt for a plant-based milk alternative.
The total cost of ingredients varies between Tesco and Aldi, as some products aren't available at Aldi.

Instructions (for one single serving of Pumpkin Spiced Latte)
1. Preheat your oven to 180°C before lining a baking tray with some parchment.
2. Slice your pumpkin in half before scooping out the seeds inside.
3. Place the pumpkin on your baking tray, cut side down, before piercing the skin with a fork to let steam escape during baking. Roast the vegetable in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes or until you can easily pierce the skin.
4. After giving the roasted pumpkin some time to cool, scoop out the flesh and blitz a food processor until smooth, adding a bit of water if necessary.
5. Add milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar to a saucepan and heat this mixture over a medium temperature, making sure not to boil.
6. Stir spices, vanilla extract, and freshly brewed 30mls of coffee into the nicely warmed mixture, before pouring into your favourite mug.
