Saudi Arabia's national campaign for charitable work witnessed record donations in the first hours of its launch, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, had kicked off the campaign on Friday, with a donation of 50 millions riyals through the National Platform for Charitable Work (Ehsan).

The campaign has collected over 262 million riyals in donations in the first three hours of its launch.

It marked an increase of 50 million riyals compared to the campaign's first edition, in 2021.

This brings to 1.745 billion riyals the amount collected in two years.

This year's campaign will continue to receive donations from individuals, companies, banks, donors and facilitators, through the platform’s application and website.

The success of the platform is attributed to Crown Prince Mohammed's continuous keenness on empowering and developing the charitable and non-profit sector, raising its efficiency and increasing the level of its reliability through a solid digital structure that works according to high governance.
