Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, mourned on Friday the passing of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They offered their condolences to the UAE government and people, the Al Nahyan family and the Arab and Islamic nations.
They described Sheikh Khalifa as leader who offered much to his people, nation and world.
Saudi Arabia and its people share the sorrow of their UAE brothers and sisters, they added.
King Salman ordered that the funeral prayer be performed for Sheikh Khalifa at the Grand Mosque in the holy city of Makkah after the Isha prayer on Friday.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman later telephoned Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to offer his condolences.
The UAE announced Sheikh Khalifa's death on Friday.
