Saudi Govt Reviews Kingdom’s Participation at Regional, Int’l Events

The Saudi government reviewed on Tuesday the Kingdom’s participation at various regional and international events over the past week.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the cabinet meeting that was held in Riyadh.

The ministers underscored the Kingdom’s keenness on bolstering cooperation and coordination at the Gulf Cooperation Council and G20.

They underlined its pivotal role in the global economy and in securing the balance and stability of global energy markets. They also highlighted its humanitarian and relief work.

The ministers were briefed on the telephone talks held between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron.

They stressed Saudi Arabia’s keenness and pioneering role in addressing climate challenges.

This has been demonstrated in a number of initiatives and programs that were unveiled at the second edition of the Saudi Green Initiative.

At the event, Saudi Arabia announced plans to reduce emissions by 278 million tons annually, plant over 600 million trees and transform 30 percent of land and marine territories into natural reserves by 2030.

The ministers also reviewed Riyadh’s hosting of the second edition of the Global Security Forum. A number of fruitful discussions were held at the event. It witnessed the signing of a number of agreements, reflecting Saudi Arabia global role in supporting international efforts and exploring opportunities for cooperation in the field.
