Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday it was lifting the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for Umrah pilgrims from Türkiye as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to ease the process for would-be pilgrims.
Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah made the announcement from Türkiye during a joint press conference with Turkish President of Directorate of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş.
Al Rabiah added that no age restrictions will be imposed on any pilgrims from Türkiye.
The Saudi government and people welcome all Umrah pilgrims without exception to serve Islam and Muslims and help them perform the religious rituals with ease in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, he stressed.
Al Rabiah expressed his gratitude to Turkish officials for the warm welcome he was accorded along with his accompanying delegation.
He praised the fraternal historic ties that bind Riyadh and Ankara under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
