Saudi Arabia Expresses Solidarity with Egypt after Terror Attack

Gulf and Arab countries strongly condemned on Sunday the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in Egypt’s Ismailiyah. Several members of the security forces were killed and injured in the attack.

Saudi Arabia expressed its solidarity with the Egyptian leadership, government and people. 

The Foreign Ministry offered the Kingdom's condolences to the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery and Egypt and its people constant security and stability. 

Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman condemned the attack, offering their condolences to Egypt and its people. 

Kuwait said it firmly opposes violence and terrorism, adding that it stands by Egypt. 

Bahrain stressed its support of all the measures Egypt takes to preserve its security, stability and safety of its people. 

The UAE reiterated this position, adding that it always rejects all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at destabilizing security and that violate human values and principles. 

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the attack, underscoring its solidarity with Egypt. 

It said it backs the Egyptian government’s measures in protecting the country’s security and stability and its fight against terrorism and extremism. 

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf condemned the attack, offering his condolences to the families of the victims and the Egyptian government and people.
