The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that 297,444 applications had been submitted for the electronic draw dedicated to Saudi citizens and residents for the coming Hajj season.
In a press statement, the ministry said that the total number of completed applications exceeded 217,000 through the relevant platform and the electronic portal for domestic pilgrims, noting that an SMS would be sent on Thursday to those selected.
The selected citizens and residents will be given 48 hours to complete the payment fees for the chosen packages through the approved payment methods.
The ministry had opened registration for domestic pilgrims from June 3-11.
The youth group from 31-40 years constituted the highest percentage of the total requests (38 percent), followed by the age category of 21-30 years (23 percent), the age group between 41-50 years (21 percent), and the category of 51-65 years (12 percent). The lowest category was for applicants under 20 years old.
Announcing the results of the e-draw, Dr. Abdel-Fattah Mashat, Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, noted that the electronic system has set several conditions in the selection process, including the applicant’s age, which should not exceed 65, and the full vaccination against the Covid-19.
He added that rejected requests constituted a very small percentage, explaining that the reasons for exclusion were mainly the failure of the applicant to meet the conditions in the information provided in the application.
