Viewers of Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway weren't shy in sharing their opinion of a certain segment of the show as it returned on Saturday, saying it was having an unusual affect on their pets. The ITV show returned for the second episode of the series on Saturday, March 4 and with it the return of the ‘Ring My Bell’ game.
The game sees the Geordie duo spring a surprise on people in their studio audience, showing footage from video door bell's on the big screen and asking them to stand up and make themselves known if they recognise it as theirs.
The presenters then appeal to the audience's neighbours to turn up at the front door with household goods. But the return of 'Ring My Bell’ had some viewers up in arms, as they explained how it interrupted their viewing of the show.

Sharing their opinion on Twitter, one viewer who wasn't very enthusiastic about the game wrote: “This ring my doorbell game is setting my dog off thinking it’s our ring doorbell." A second wrote directly to the presenters: “@antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway quiet night with the dog until you 2 start with the doorbell game.”
A third added: “The Ring My Doorbell game has set my dog Archie off. What have you done Ant and Dec?” And a fourth shared: “Thanks @antanddec @itvtakeaway, this is the face I get during Ring My Bell coz he knows he gets treats for not running to the door!”
Aside from some pet owners, most people were thrilled at the return of ‘Ring My Bell’. One person wrote: “A rare Saturday night in & I absolutely loved the @antanddec ring my doorbell segment. Madness.”
Another person wrote: “#SaturdayNightTakeaway that ring my doorbell should be longer so funny.” A third said: “That ring my doorbell on Ant and Dec is class.”
