Saturday Night Takeaway: Jeremy Clarkson turns air blue when he's 'arrested' during Ant & Dec prank

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway made a comeback this weekend with its first live audience in almost two years.

And Jeremy Clarkson was the first unsuspecting star of the 2022 series, with a little help from his girlfriend.

Clarkson was left swearing when he was the victim of the Undercover sketch which saw Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly work alongside the TV presenter's girlfriend Lisa Hogan on the sting.

But when it was revealed he had been pranked, the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter took it all in his stride, saying: "Very good, very good.

"I should have known there was something going on when you got up early this morning," he added to Lisa.

Dec described it as "one of the most nerve-wracking undercovers ever" while Ant pointed out that Clarkson had rubbed up many people the wrong way over the years so this was payback..

Undercover saw 'protesters', including Ant and Dec in disguise, arrive at Clarkson's farm, which features on the Amazon series Clarkson's Farm, demanding rights for soil.

Clarkson approached the 'protesters' and he didn't look happy. "Soil rights? There's no such thing," he muttered.

One 'protester' then handcuffed himself to Clarkson's car before the 'police' arrived and then a minibus with more 'protesters' including one stripped naked, pulled up.

When a digger hovered above his car before dropping soil on the vehicle and a police officer told him he was being arrested for breeching the peace, the relatively calm Clarkson turned the air blue.

Last year camera crews were spotted at the farm when graffiti appeared on Clarkson's Diddly Squat farm shop.

At the time, the vandalism, which saw the word "soil" spray-painted onto the side of the shop, was credited to Ant and Dec.

Jeremy appeared to confirm the rumours that it was the presenting duo posting to Twitter at the time: "All b***ocks. It was Ant and Lard c**king about." You can read more on this here.

The first episode of the new series also saw RuPaul as the guest announcer and all three winners of Drag Race UK were booked to perform together for the first time on television in a spectacular End of the Show Show.
