Saturday Night Takeaway fans fuming as funny 'Ring My Bell' segment cut after complaints

Saturday Night Takeaway fans were gutted when a segment from the show was left out of the most recent episode after complaints were made prior.

The popular segment, Ring My Bell, which saw dogs end up in a frenzy, sees Ant and Dec livestream to members of the studio audience's homes via their Ring doorbells.

If their neighbours are watching the show at home, they have the tricky task with running to their neighbour's home and saying "ring my doorbell" into the camera.

Ant and Dec give them 45 seconds to get to the correct house for a chance to win £500 both for themselves and the audience member in the studio.

But dog owners watching at home were quick to complain that the sound of the doorbells on TV was making their beloved pets go crazy.

Because of the complaints, the Geordie duo were forced to issue an apology to dog owners up and down the country. They took to Twitter and said: "Apologies to Britain’s dog owners for tonight’s ‘Ring My Bell’ segment."

One fan replied: "Omg mine were going mental! I had to keep opening the front door to show them there was no-one there!"

Another penned: "My dog and cat recognises the ring door bell, so Saturday night during your show was fun and games in our house."

While a third said: "My 4 month old puppy was getting so excited. Then ultimately disappointed!"

But a fourth sweetly addd: "Nothing to apologise for. It was a little humour we all needed in times like these."

Despite the segment causing havoc in some homes up and down the UK, most viewers were gutted that the segment had been dropped in the most recent episode that aired.

"Calling for a ring my bell come back! Loved that last week," said one viewer on Twitter.

A second person chimed in: "Where is Ring my Bell???? I want it back? #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

While another tweeted: "@antanddec no ring my bell tonight? These people who moaned about dogs barking god forbid anyone actually knocking the door. Unless they have no friends."

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway's return has been a surefire hit with viewers – especially after their first show back on February 19.

To mark the occasion of the show returning to screens, Ant and Dec got into drag with the three winners from RuPaul's Drag Race UK – The Vivienne, Lawrence Chaney and Krystal Versace.

ITV was hit with several Ofcom complaints after the Geordie duo transformed into drag queens (ITV)

Dubbed as Lady Antoinette and Miss Donna Lee during the End Of The Show Show, the pair donned high heels, wigs and sparkly dresses as they sashayed and danced on the stage with the professional drag queens.

Many viewers couldn't get enough of the flamboyant display, but watchdog Ofcom logged 59 complaints from viewers who had an issue with the scenes out of a total of 71 objections throughout the show.

Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway airs every Saturday on ITV at 7pm.
