Saturday Night Takeaway chaos as unsuspecting neighbour stumbles into show

The most recent episode of Saturday Night Takeaway fell into chaos as presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly played Ring My Bell on the ITV show. Airing on Saturday, April 1, the episode showed the pair playing Ring My Bell for the last time this series, which involved those in the audience having to jump up and shout 'ding dong that's my doorbell' if they recognise the two presenters have tapped into their ring doorbell.

The neighbours of that person are then tasked with finding an item in their own home before running to the person's doorbell and presenting the item, and then having to shout 'ring my bell' for a chance to win themselves and their neighbour £500. However, Ant and Dec noticed a woman lurking near the house, and they thought she must have been extra eager to get involved, but it turned out she was just trying to visit her neighbour.

As they asked her who she was, she kept repeating her name was Cynthia, and was puzzled that Ant and Dec were speaking to her when she expected her neighbours to be at home, reports The Daily Mirror. They asked if she had her dirty laundry with her, which was the game's request, and at this point, people could be seen rushing behind Cynthia with their laundry.

They were trying to ring the bell, but Cynthia refused to move away. Even when Ant and Dec requested for her to move she seemed confused and continued to stay there. Fans rushed to social media to praise Cynthia for being such a key part of the show, even if she wasn't expecting any of it.

One viewer wrote: "Cynthia deserves that £500 - laughed so much #SaturdayNightTakeaway." Another added: "@antanddec hope Cynthia gets a place on the plane!! #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

A third shared: "Poor Cynthia's just become a national celebrity in 45 seconds just for turning up at her neighbour's #saturdaynighttakeaway." Whilst a fourth commented: "Cynthia needs a place on the plane #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

Yet another wrote: "And the whole of the UK has fallen in love with #cynthia on #RingmyBell @itvtakeaway #SaturdayNightTakeaway." A sixth shared: "TV gold Cynthia knocking next door at the exact moment #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
