Poppy O’Toole has broken her silence after a mortifying incident occured, in which she repeated a rude word multiple times on live television.
The guest chef appeared on Saturday Kitchen Live yesterday, when she headed onto the series to rustle up a meal for celebrity guest Alesha Dixon.
Whilst cooking alongside the series’ host Matt Tebbutt, the TikTok star revealed that she was let go from her job and went on to garner a huge following of four million on the platform - thanks to her potato-inspired posts.
After being asked about her rise to fame on the social media site, Poppy meant to tell Matt that she won her following “on a whim”, but accidentally used the word “q**m” instead - a vulgar slang word for women’s genitals.
Now, the star has made light of the situation in a recent TikTok video - although she did admit to fearing she was going to be “cancelled” as a result of the innocent mishap.
Taking to the social media platform - of which she has four million followers - the chef broke her cover as she posted a compilation of the side-splitting moment unfolding on national television, alongside digital news reports (including the Mirror’s original report ) addressing the unfortunate moment.
"Am I being cancelled? What have I done?", she asked the fellow presenter on the series.
“Imagine saying an inappropriate word on live TV at 10 in the morning,” the TikTok read, while she captioned the video: “Please send help.”
At the time, the moment didn’t go unnoticed by home viewers, with tons of people flocking to Twitter to mention the side-splitting moment.
One fan wrote alongside a slew of laughing emojis:"'Whats a quim?' Best thing ever asked on Saturday morning TV.”
Another wrote: "#saturdaykitchen did she really just ask what a 'quim' was," to which a third added, "Poppy right now not having a CLUE what she said lmao."
A fourth added in: "Wonderful wonderful scenes as the word quim gets said twice instead of whim on #SaturdayKitchen. Highlight of the year so far."
